F-Class and Benchrest shooters use Teflon Stock Tape on the buttstock and forend of their rifles to help the stock slide smoother in the bags. The tape also protects the stock surfaces from being scratched by Cordura bags.
Teflon (PTFE) Stock Tape is made with a very thin fiberglass mesh impregnated in the tape for strength and it is tan in color. Shooters prefer the Teflon tape as it is slicker and slides better in rest bags.
