This is a high quality, strong Bolt Lift Kit for Savage centerfire models Post-2019 based on the 10, 110, 11, 111, 12, 14, 114, 16, 116.
Lumley Arms 4-piece bolt lift kit for the Post-2019 Savage rifles is designed as a direct replacement for the factory 3-piece striker spring assembly. Lumley Arms also produce a lightweight optional titanium BAS for Post-2019 models (see below). Many of the newer production rifles from 2019 and onwards have the striker spring assembly contained entirely between the BAS and cocking piece pin. This results in a much stiffer spring rate compared to the older adjustable design due to the short overall spring length required, which in turn creates a heavier bolt lift. This Post-2019 Savage design consists of two mainsprings with a wire ring in-between to account for the radial movement required for opening (cocking) the bolt assembly. Lumley solution operates within these design parameters but offers the following benefits:
- Instead of 1 spring isolator made from wire, Lumley includes 2 spring isolators which significantly reduces the friction coefficient
- Lumley spring isolators are made from acetal bar stock containing 20% PTFE fibers which results in less galling and a much smoother bolt lift

Savage Post-2019 Bolt Lift Kit Fitting Guide:
Installation and fitting may be required and recommended to be done by a qualified and professional Gunsmith.
This is a relatively straightforward part to fit. We recommend clamping the bolt in a bench vise (using either soft-jaws or an aluminum v-block) with the BAS facing upwards, de-cocking the striker pin and then unscrewing the BAS which on most Post-2019 models will be by using a 1⁄4" hex key. Take care with this last step as the BAS will still be under spring pressure. Lumley has included in the image gallery a series of exploded diagrams of the Post 2019 Savage bolt assembly showing all these components and how they fit together. Reassembly is done by replacing the old 3-piece components with our 4-piece kit and following the above steps in reverse. Lumley recommends re-cocking the striker pin by removing the assembled bolt from the vise and holding the cocking piece pin against the top edge of the vice and firmly pulling the bolt downwards and twisting until the cocking piece pin cams into location.
Tech Note on prolonging the life of main springs:
Lumley has measured the whole striker spring assembly on the Post-2019 Savage rifles as just shy of 3/4" (19mm) when the bolt is cocked. We recommend when not in use, the bolt should be kept un-cocked, either by inserting it into the receiver and dry firing (after first checking that the rifle is unloaded), or by using a bolt protector which de-cocks the bolt when stored. This will minimize stress placed on the striker mainsprings and prolong their lifetime.
Optional Titanium BAS (Post-2019 models)
This is a lightweight replacement BAS (Bolt Assembly Screw) for Post-2019 Savage made from grade 5 titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) with the 3 piece firing pin spring. Lumley BAS uses the best materials and coatings available achieving a high hardness and corrosion resistance coupled with a reduction in weight. These are well made and offer a lifetime of hard use in all environments.
Savage Post-2019 Titanium BAS Fitting Guide:
Installation and fitting may be required and recommended to be done by a qualified and professional Gunsmith.
Minimum tools required are a 1/4" hex key, if in doubt we recommend having a gunsmith fit the kit. Holding the bolt firmly with the BAS facing upwards in a padded vice is the easiest method. Be aware of the spring pressure before unscrewing the BAS. Lumley recommends applying a small amount of bolt-lug grease or alternatively a grease of similar viscosity to the BAS threads prior to installation and decocking the bolt first then recocking following reassembly.
